LNG terminal Poland
Location: Swinoujcie, Poland
Turbine model: WS-2B (2 pc)
Powering the channel entry-marker buoys for the Świnoujście LNG terminal on the Baltic Sea, operated by Polskie LNG S.A. The hybrid renewable energy system combines solar panels and an energy storage system to deliver reliable power to the navigational and safety systems on the channel marker buoys.
WS-2B turbines were selected for to their ability to operate in extreme weather conditions for over 30 years with minimal maintenance. At sea, wind speeds may exceed 50m/s. In areas of extreme and harsh weather conditions, Marine customers need reliability and long-lasting equipment.
Benefits: Using hybrid wind and solar will compensate or reduce diesel consumption, pollution, and CO2 emissions by lowering the electrical load on the diesel generators. Diesel generator lifespan and re-supply periods are extended, reducing overall operational expenditures.
